Does anyone know when Whips’s bridge was built? I recently learned that in 1859 my ancestor Joseph Henderson requested that a road be built “commencing on the east bank of the Olentangy River; thence running east … on the south line of the land owned by Barnabas Phinney to the Worthington & Columbus Plank Road.” (Now High St.) The document mentions that the road begins in the county road that leads up the river to Whipps Mill.

Given the names, it seems likely that this bridge connected what is now W Henderson on the west of the river to the 1859 road built on the east side (also now W Henderson). Any information about this would be appreciated!
